New Cat
We finally got a kitten to keep our cat company. The kitten came from a cat rescue place, and she is the sweetest, neatest little calico female about three months old. She has a wonderful personality, very cuddly and affectionate, and she gets along great with our fluffy orange cat, Eggnog. We are calling the new kitten Sparkle.

Hi Janet,
Thanks for visiting my blog. Sorry I've taken so long to come over and say hello. Summers are so busy here...but there's less work than when we were milking cows. Don't know how we fitted everything in. Your kittys are lovely. What a sweet new calico kitten you have.
You asked about our little Murphy's toes. Yes, he does have extra, and so does Annabelle..the little tortoiseshell kitten. We have several cats with big front feet.
Loved your photos of the baby birds. Did you ever find out what they were? Morning doves nest in pine trees, but they're brown and you'd know them probably...they look like small pidgeons.
I think the birds are just going to be known as "blackbirds", which isn't really their name so much as a description. We do have red-winged blackbirds in the area, but those are different and have a recognizable song. I did not know that mourning doves nested in pine trees. I grew up with lots of mourning doves but no pine trees. I have been hearing mourning doves nearby in recent weeks but don't think I have actually spotted them. Nice to know that our pine trees might be harbouring them.
